
The Society for the Preservation of
Bluegrass Music Association
presented the 2001 awards to the winners of the Mid-West Region
at the SPBGMA 28th Annual Awards and Winter Bluegrass Festival
January 11-13, 2002 at the Capital Plaza Hotel and Convention
Center in Jefferson City, MO.
The Bluegrass Missourians won in the following categories:
Traditional Bluegrass Band of the Year
Greg Blake - Bluegrass Guitar Performer of the Year

The Bluegrass Missourians were
nominated for
"Band of the Year -Vocally",
at the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music
Association awards ceremony for 1999
and Greg Blake of the Bluegrass Missourians won
Bluegrass Guitar Player of the Year
for the fourth year in a row.

The Bluegrass Missourians
have many years of experience playing for all sorts of audiences
in a variety of venues in six states.
They have performed at Silver Dollar City's Music Festival near Branson for 21 years
and have opened for the late Bill Monroe, the "Father of Bluegrass Music", on
two separate occasions.
